Lac de Freux

About 10 kilometres from the village of Libramont-Chevigny you find the rural village of Freux. Just outside the village you find the 6 acres large lake. The lake is about 4 to 5 metres deep with cristaal clear water. The lake is filled with rainbow trout, up to 70 cm! It's best to fish with a floating line with sinking tip. Hot flies are Tadpoles and Corixa's.

Flyfishing

You can fish the lake for € 14,- for half a day. From 08.00 until 14.00 and 14.00 until 22.00. You can retain 2 trout under 40 cm. If the keeper is absent you can just start fishing. He will sell you the permit by the water.

When the weather is bad and this is no exception in the Ardennes this lake is an excellent alternative. In winter there's a nice rustic and heated shelter.

From Antwerp direction Brussels. Take the E-411 via Namen direction Luxemburg. Exit 25 Bertrix - Libramont. Left to Libramont. In Libramont direction Freux. Before entering the village you can see the lake on your right. Int he village there are signs directing you to the lake. There's a parking lot in front of the lake.
